SPIRITUAL LIFE
[mirror bought at local Oxfam, cotton summer hat present from friend Val Fraser, bought in US, earrings Nepalese at least twenty years old]

I try and meditate most mornings. I have found this enormously helpful since having a series of major operations for breast cancer in 2004. I go to Church (Christ Church, Edinburgh) where I was an active member of the Women Doing Theology and Roots to Roots groups (until their demise) and the choir (until 2008).

I have taken three consecutive one year courses at the House of Prayer, Nile Grove, Edinburgh Growth of Prayer in Everyday Life (2001-2); Faith Accompaniment (2002-3); Training in Spiritual Direction (2003-4). I am qualified as a Spritual Director and occasionally meet with people as Spiritual Directees.

I attended a Buddhist retreat with Vietnamese Zen Master and poet Thich Nhat Hanh (St. Andrews, 2003)

I walked the seven day Lanark to Lindisfarne, Northern Cross Pilgrimage to Holy Island, in both 2002, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2010 (and part of the way on other years).

The Spirit Bird: Music, poetry and meditation on the Holy Spirit, A creative retreat day with poet Valerie Gillies, Saturday February 19th 2005, at House of Prayer, Nile Grove Edinburgh.
